Ken Roberts has introduced hundreds of people to the commodities market. I will give him credit for being a terrific direct marketer. I have received several letters and catalogs in the mail from him. I will be honest with you about ten years ago I received a catalog in the mail from Mr. Roberts about commodities trading and my interest was peaked.
I proceeded to start reading everything I could on trading commodities and ordered Ken Robert's course. In his mailing he told me that I could become a successful trader with less than $1,000.00. I was excited and tore into the course and then started to trade. After about 3 months that $1,000.00 investment turned into a ($10,000.00) loss. Needless to say that was the end of my futures trading career. What Ken did not cover in his course was the crucial topics of money and portfolio management. These are crucial to any futures trader. The futures market is a very dynamic and fast paced market. It is a market that very few can trade successfully and it has taken them years to learn the markets they trade in.
I would suggest that you that you find a mentor that has experience in the market that will be able to work with you one-on-one until you can learn the ropes. Let me warn those of you that are considering trading commodities. While there are those that are making millions trading futures it includes some very volatile markets and it should only be done with monies that you can afford to lose.
